What to Expect

Your counselling sessions belong to you: we will talk together and agree how we can best use them. Some people are in counselling for a few short sessions, and others remain in therapy for an extended period. This page explains some of what the work we do together might look like. â€‹

Being Yourself 

This is your space to bring all of who you are. You can expect me to listen to you, and also to bring my own authentic self.

New ways of Coping

We will work together to identify the approaches that help you, and practice them together in the session.

Self-Awareness

We will work together to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours; and understand how your past is impacting your present.

New Ways of Communicating

We will try out new ways of communicating that feel more authentic to you - like setting boundaries, and being honest about how you feel.

Connecting with your Body

I will prompt you to notice what is happening in your body, and ask you to think about what it might mean.

Feeling your Feelings

I will create a space for you to feel things that you might have been avoiding, in a way that feels manageable and supported.

I am really enjoying my session with Paula. They have helped me in noticing patterns from my past and present and help me in calming the chaos in my mind. She offers a safe place filled with open ears and compassion.
